The Director of the Year Award was created to recognize directors for outstanding performance in the boardroom and behind the scenes. Nominees may be from any industry and must be a resident of the San Diego area or serve on a board of a company located in San Diego. Awards are based on the director’s recent achievements, with the exception of the Lifetime Achievement awards. Each nominee should historically exhibit exceptional character traits.
